Taking on 2019 By Storm: The 2019 Honda Accord in Kenosha vs. Subaru Legacy
Have you heard about our most impressive Honda ever? With awards like 2019 Car and Driver’s 10Best and KBB’s 2019 Best Buy: Midsize Car just to name a few, it would be hard to believe you haven’t. That’s not going to stop us from bragging about this Honda, so without further ado, we introduce to you the 2019 Honda Accord in Kenosha! This sedan has incredible features that can’t be matched by its competitor, the Subaru Legacy, but don’t just take our word for it. Keep reading to see why this Honda is superior to Subaru.
Unmatched Safety Features
On top of hosting standard safety features like height-adjustable seat belts, crash mitigating brakes, and blind spot warning systems, the Honda Accord also has smart airbags. By utilizing vehicle speed sensors as well as sensors in the seat, the smart airbags deploy with different levels of force to protect passengers of all sizes. It can even shut off entirely if it detects a child leaning against the door, so it’s easy to say that the Accord wins the safety round since the Legacy’s airbags deploy at full force no matter who’s in the seat. Another crucial safety feature the Legacy is lacking is the driver alert monitoring system. This can detect an inattentive driver and give off a warning sound to suggest a much-needed break; seeing as there are roughly 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year caused by drivers who fall asleep (according to the NHTSA), we couldn’t imagine not having this safety feature.
Better For Your Wallet and the Environment
Not only does Car and Driver, KBB, and the NHTSA recognize the Accord’s greatness, but even the Environmental Protection Agency can’t deny that this Honda is perfect in every way. The EPA ran a test cycle between the Accord and Legacy to see which has the best fuel economy, and here are the results:
|1.5 turbo 4 cyl./Auto||30 city/38 hwy*||25 city/34 hwy*||2.5i/Auto|
|2.0 turbo 4 cyl./Auto||23 city/34 hwy*||20 city/28 hwy*||3.6R/Auto|
Further reducing your carbon footprint, the Accord has a standard cap-less fueling system that reduces fuel evaporation by automatically opening and closing the fuel filler. The Legacy doesn’t offer this fueling system, so you would still have to mess with a gas cap.
From the moment you glide into the Accord, to when you try to parallel park, there’s no moment left unassisted due to this Honda’s incredibly assistive technologies. On the EX-L and Touring models, the easy entry system makes entering your Accord a breeze. When the door is unlocked, or ignition switched off, the driver’s seat will automatically glide back; talk about convenient. Once on the road, you’ll have minimal distractions due to the Touring’s head-up display, which projects speed and crucial other instrument readouts right in the driver’s line of sight. Upon reaching your destination, you won’t have to sweat over having to parallel park; once you kick the Accord Touring into reverse, the rearview mirrors tilt from their set position to give the driver a better view of the curb. And once you shift out of reverse, back into their original position they go!
