Adult Summer Camps And Cider Bar In Milwaukee
You Thought Summer Camps Were Just for Kids? Nope… Here are Milwaukee Camps for Adults and the First Cider Bar…
It’s early an early Friday morning.
That can only mean one thing.
It’s time to hear what’s new in the Milwaukee food scene!
Here’s what they had to talk about on this edition of This Bites:
Camp Halcyon is an adult summer camp taking place in Wautoma from July 7 – 10.
This is not your average camping experience.
This is also not your average “glamping” experience (glam camping).
This is camping for people who don’t like camping.
There are several four-person cabins where campers can stay.
Campers can enjoy a variety of activities such as traditional capture the flag, and not-so-traditional beer Olympics!
There is also yoga on the beach every morning, scotch and cigar tasting, drive-in movie nights, and even scheduled naptime!
And so much more.
Campers have a wide variety of food selections for breakfast such as a mimosa bar, a bloody Mary bar, a coffee lounge, and every kind of sugary cereal you could imagine.
For lunch there are luxuries such as a build your own burger bar or pizza buffet.
And of course you get a gourmet three course meal with cocktails for dinner.
Roughing it sounds pretty nice, doesn’t it?
Lost Valley Cider Co.
The first Milwaukee cider bar recently opened in Walker’s Point!
Lost Valley Cider Co. has 28 different types of ciders on tap and over a 100 in bottles and cans.
Usually bars have very few choices of cider, but that is not an issue anymore!
And if you can’t make up your mind, you can even get a growler to take home with you.
Most ciders are gluten free, and there is also beer on tap available.
And for the medieval lovers, there is mead (ale made with honey if you don’t know)!
Though Milwaukee does not yet have its own local cider, it at least now offers a place where cider-lovers can relax and enjoy.
Fresh Thyme Market
The grocery store wars continue.
Fresh Thyme Market is a new grocery store that recently opened on the East Side.
This chain of stores offers healthy organic products, all natural meat, organic and local fruits, health supplements, and more.
This is not your average farmer’s market.
There are many varieties of products for everyone in your family regardless of eating preferences, diet restrictions, and health concerns.
Barnacle Bud’s Annual Crawfish Boil
Barnacle Bud’s annual crawfish boil returned on June 8.
$45 is all you need for all you can eat crawfish and fixin’s, and a souvenir glass for beer tastings from Great Lakes Distillery, Lakefront Brewery, Wisconsin Brewing Company, Like Minds Brewing Co., Barefoot Wines.
According to the locals, Bud’s is one of the best places in town to have a beer.
It’s almost impossible to find.
It’s super secluded, rustic, and peaceful.
Relax with a country feel and enjoy a cold beer and as many crawfish as you can eat!
Looks like Milwaukee is the place to be for festivities and food this summer, and Honda of Kenosha hopes you enjoy it!!
